Choose you this day whom you will serve!

This video is from the State of Black America that aired in February on C-SPAN. It may Al Sharpton but I agree completely with his statement. We have allowed ourselves to be dragged along with the status quo in so many election that no one cares what we thing or what our issues are. The tradition of being lied to and ignored until the last moment before an election is one tradition we must end if we are to become a true political power in the United States of America. We have to stop accepting the bread that fall from the table, but pull a chair and take seat at the table.

  1. That is so true. I agree with you and yes, we do need to step up to the plate when it comes to issues. Due to societal conditioning, we’ve backed down from the things that we know as a people will take us places. It takes a few people to start a movement. Will it be you? It starts with everyone. We as a people can only go as far as we will allow ourselves to go and grow.
    Thanks for sharing that.

  2. This is one of the few times I agree with Rev Sharpton. The only problem I have is the message seems to still lock the choice with the democrat party. If we don’t let the other side think they have a chance to get our vote than they would be fools worrying about our issues. Also if the Democrat Party thinks they have us locked in then all they will do is give us lip service and a few token gestures. They know we can’t do any thing to them because they know we don’t have anywhere else to go.
We as black people need to stop worrying about what people are going to give us because if we have to rely on the scraps of others them we will starve if they decide not to give. We need to be self-sufficient so we can take what we want through hard work and sacrifice. By doing this we can be our own men and women and them control our own destiny. We need to be Lions not Sheep!
