Today as I walked back to my desk, after getting some mint tea, I had the hardest time not spelling the tea as I walked. No matter how hard I tried to focus on that tea a little would spill. I had made this trip many times in the pass  and never spilled a drop. I looked down at the cup and tried so very hard to control my hand and keep the tea from moving around too much but more spilled. Understand every time the tea spilled I got burn a little after about ten feet I stopped  and switched hands, try to give my right hand a break from the pain and to allow the tea to settle down. I started again confident that this time I will complete my task with no more pain. My eyes was fixed on the cup of tea watching it’s every movement, adjusting, readjusting, left, right, left, right… NO! A splash of hot  tea hits my hand. I am at the point of giving up.

By this time I am a little over half way there and I am trying my best not to look like a fool walking down the hall burning himself with hot tea. I look up and several people are coming down the hall toward me I kept walking and speaking as they pass me, at that moment I realize I have not spilled a drop of tea from the time lifted my head to speak until I reached my destination.

God has a plan for us all, he has a destination for you. Don’t lose site of  God’s Destination by worrying  about the details. If it is in God’s plan he will work it out for your good.

The Treasury granted preliminary approval for several insurance company to receive TARP funds. Some of the companies to receive these fund are Hartford, Prudential, Lincoln National, and Principal Financial Group. We gave the banks TARP money in  hopes that it would free up money to loan to businesses and individuals,  in response the banks pocketed the money and denied loans to people, foreclosed on homes and paid large bonuses to the very people that put in this  position.

Now one Insurance companies want money. On the 12th  of May the industry made a big announcement with the President to make changes in the health Insurance area. We all are paying insurance on something and for the most part hoping we never have to use it because  if we need that means two things: some unforeseen situation has occurred in our life’s that we cannot control and we have to fight the very people we have been paying for years to do their job. Insurance on everything is, in my opinion, too expensive. I would hope that something comes our way this time around ie..  reduced premiums, better coverage for a better price.

Well once again the rumors are fling around about a the Super Bowl being held in London, England. Yes I did say London. I have nothing against London but there several place here the U.S. I can think of having the Super Bowl other than London. Let’s go back in time a little for some facts. In 1991 the NFL introduced the World League which later became NFL Europe and in it last regeneration NFL Europa . NFL Europa was an American football league which operated in Europe from 1991 to 2007.on June 29,2007 NFL Officials announced that the league would be disbanded effective immediately. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell thanked the fans for their support but said it was time to develop a new international strategy, terming the move to fold NFL Europa the “best business decision.” The league reportedly was losing about $30 million a season. In the World Bowl Championship game the attends was 48,125. The attends for that game would not even fill the smallest NFL stadium.

The Super Bowl is the largest in the NFL season, millions of people watches it and thousands flock to the city that hold the event. The many historic local such as Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Solider Field in Chicago, and Ralph Wilson Stadium have never hosted a Super Bowl for one reason, they are cold weather, open air stadiums. These fan are more deserving than some and much than London. I think this is bad, bad, very bad ideal.  I love American football but I will not watch the Super Bowl if it is held in London.

Sharecropping  is a system of agricultural  in which the land owner allows a tenant to use the land in return for a share of the crop produced on the land.  Sharecropping has a long history and there are a wide range of different situations and types of agreements that have encompassed the system. Here in the U.S. sharecroppers were assigned a plot of land to work, and in exchange owed the owner a share of the crop at the end of the season, usually one-half. The owner provided the tools and farm animals. Farmers who owned their own mule and plow were at a higher stage and are called tenant farmers; they paid the landowner less, usually only a third of each crop. In both cases the farmer kept the produce of gardens. The sharecropper purchased seed, tools and fertilizer, as well as food and clothing, on credit from a local merchant, or sometimes from a plantation store. When the harvest came, the sharecropper would harvest the whole crop and sell it to the merchant who had extended credit. Purchases and the landowner’s share were deducted and the sharecropper kept the difference–or added to his debt.

Today we work like sharecroppers in the sense that the product is not as important as the projections. Companies product millions of there products but still at the end of the day we put our hopes on the market results and the unreasonable percentage of profit. What is funny is that there have been several company that did not made one dime of profit for years and produce no products at all but today there stock price is off the charts all because of market projections. Common everyday Sharecropper could not afford and or did not have the status to buy-in at there IPO. At some point the world will right itself  but the real question is how many sharecroppers will lose there lively hood and there lives in the process. The Market has become our “local merchant” or “plantation store”. Even though the store’s bookkeeping is all jacked-up no one is willing to tell them in fear that you will not be able to get the things they need to farm there land. So we all stand around with thumbs in mouths hoping the store can figure in out on his own, trapped between the truth of our situation and the lies we have been telling each other. Welcome to Sharecropping in the 21st century.

SEC Directors questioned about the Madoff Case. The question is why did you not catch Madoff until after he confessed even after you where handed all the information.

I must give credit to Linda Thomsen she at least tried to answer the questions but the rest of them just sat there.

Andy Vollmer SEC acting general counsel did not think he should answer the questions.

From: Carol Carter

Subject: FW: Amazing!

I’m confused

How can 2,000,000 blacks get into Washington, DC in 1 day in sub zero temps when 200,000 couldn’t get out of New Orleans in 85 degree temps with four days notice?

Carol Carter

This is a damn pissing contest by the GOP. If there are things that the GOP does not agree on then ask for that to be removed don’t stand on the floor for 15 minutes wasting time trying to get sound bites for all those hate that the GOP lost. The crap was a result of unchecked captialism gone wild.

No capitailism is not bad until the money become all that matters. Not the past, the present or the people just the money.

On January the 19th we will celebrate the birth of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In most states this is a Federal holiday. On January 20th we will swear in Barack Obama, our first Black President of the United States of America. On August 28, 1963 Dr. King delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. In his speech he talked of equality for all Americans. He spoke of the one hundred years that had passed from the time on the Emancipation Proclamation that should have freed blacks in America but as he said “the negro still is not free”. Dr. King had the vision of God in this speech. Forty-six years later we still don’t see it. We stand ready to inaugurate our first black president, at the time of  his speech no one thought  this would come so soon. I am so glad that  this time has come to America but this not even the first step in the dream that Dr. King told us of.

Today read about three American lives lost, not in a war with the enemy, not in a foreign land, or distant shore but here in America. Today I read about Roy Brown who robbed a bank and got a 15 years sentence for the one  hundred dollars he took because he was homless and hungry. Today  I read about Johannes Mehserles, 27, and  Oscar Grant III, 22. Mehserles was a Bay Area Rapid  Tranist officer in Oakland Ca. who is accused of shooting Grant  in the back while on  the ground and unarmed. These lives can not be saved.

Today I write this post in search of that Promise Land. America’s change is almost  too slow to bare. We do not seek that heart change that America needs we only want the superficial change that we can pose for pictures and make the feel good story of the day. We hold each other at arms distance and speak empty promises and toss died and dying  flowers at the problems.

STOP!

It is time to open our arms to embrace each other in love. Take the hand of your brothers and sisters then show them where you grow the flowers. Let’s teach each other to love not to hate.

So funny here.

Not so funny now.

Is this the example of Christ we are giving others.

Do we throw stones and then hide our hands behind the innocence of a child ?
